lipstick artworks at home

FOUNDER

"As an international Makeup Artist with 18 years experience in the fashion industry and a background in art, I looked at the expired lipsticks in my makeup kit that no longer held a place or were safe to apply on models as an alternative painting medium.

I loved the colours, different textures and luxury of these lipsticks. Where they would normally be destined for landfill, I’ve recycled them into beautiful artwork pieces for the home." - Teneille Sorgiovanni

WORK PROCESS

When working on canvas or board, lipsticks are blended with a little oil paint and or mixing medium (or added eyeshadow pigment) to create depth and ensure security in the drying process of the painting. The product is applied with different sized palette knives to achieve my desired texture.

You may see the essential oils in the original lipstick product come through the painting over time, colours change slightly or even small cracks appear from the art being exposed to different environmental factors over time.

These expressive abstracts using upcycled lipsticks, that play on layers of colour, shape and form are a unique, one of a kind artwork. A fun, malleable product that requires patience and cooperation, resulting in the perfect imperfections both intentional and unexpected.
